The day of your pet's procedure often contains a lot of information and emotions. Review the basic information below, as it contains the most pertinent information you will need on the day of surgery.
Rabbit Care
1) Please stay in your vehicle when you arrive at 8am. Avoid a late fee by arriving before 8:30am!
No need to call when you arrive, we will come to you.
2) The most common complication for rabbits after surgery is a lack of appetite if they do not receive their pain medication. We will send home 3 days of liquid, oral pain medication to start the morning after surgery.
3) Elizabethan (cone) collars are not usually necessary for rabbits.
Pro tip: Take a picture of the incision the night after surgery so you have a reference point later.
4) If your rabbit is litter-trained, only use dust-free litter for 7 days after surgery to avoid irritation of the incision.
5) Questions about the incision?
